Two things:
Try crossflashing the LGs with the ASUS 3.01 and check the speed improvement.

Yeah, thanks Alex. I personally have 2 x LG BH16NS55's. 1 is fw 1.02 and the other is ASUS 3.02, which is a little bit faster.
As I mentioned in the first post, I am happy to cross-flash to the ASUS firmware for customers on request. I just thought it'd be nice to give everone the choice when purchasing!!

Not quite! I'd say about 15% faster. I've ripped the same UHD on both of my drives as a test and the ASUS firmware was approx 6 minutes faster.
