I have been ripping with makemkv for 2 years now. I only just recently realized that many of my problems are probably because i'm just using cheap external slim drives. Current one is verbatim that I just purchased thinking I was solving my problems except it's worse especially with BD movies.

Anyway, if I purchase the following items, can they be flashed remotely and be a solid solution?

Okay, finding out these two aren't gonna get it done if I ever want UHD ripping. I only have 1 UHD disk, so I'm going to settle on these two items. Maybe flashing will work down the road if I do end up ripping UHD.

wow $200 for a a drive thats not even flashed tested or flashed crazy i was selling 212v's flashed tested and shipped for that price.
but yeah 209 will work but get the owc mercury pro case do not get the vantec.
once you get it send me a email with the drive info

what was the issue with the vantec cases? i just got one today and put a ihas324 rev F dvd drive in it and it works fine for that.

Signed up to wait for a flashed drive. Just starting with my backup of movies. Only have some blurays. May just use the old tower I had to rip the regular movies I have as it worked for the first few while I wait for a BD drive.

new models will only be xd08 in black gold and silver
but mostly black

sadly these will be very expensive compared to what we had i had to pay much higher prices for these compared to what i was able to get the other drives for and all retailers know now pioneer is out of the business so they are raising prices i have seen drives i sold for 200ish just a few months ago now selling for in the thousands its kinda crazy.
mine will be significantly cheaper than the Chinese sellers scalped ones
