And $469 is way over priced for the Chinese equivalent of the S13UBK I sold those for $285

Yes, maybe so in the past you sold them for $285.00, but it is nearly impossible to find the Pioneer BDR-S13 drives new that work out of the box. You can also buy the BDR-S13CBK’s out of China working out of the box for $460.00 AUD ($300 USD). My two I bought work straight out of the box, no flashing required.

Billy has literally bought, sold, and warranted hundreds if not thousands of these drives (he sold over 100 just in the past couple weeks). I think this forum would trust his knowledge base over the two drives you bought recently. Yes, you were successful but to apply that to all of us who have/are looking to buy drives is a stretch.

It's also bad form to come and just thread crap a thread where a person sells the drives. You could have made your own thread and posted links on where you bought your drive for other to replicate. Posting here just to impact his business is rude to put it mildly.

flashing will be coming soon but not yet
There is no guarantee there they have old fw and that's not available in the USA

I was lucky and got an BDR-X13JBK about a week before Pioneer's announcement.

If I had to do it all over again, though, I would either have a) got a BDR-S13*BK and use a third Vantec NexStar DX2 case (along with my two LGs), or b) went all the way and get the BDR-X13*-X.

My Pioneer X13JBK's is a great drive, and the case is ok, but it's all plastic and markedly inferior to the Vantec.

Anyway, this new stock of Chinese S13CBKs is something to think about.
