I am interested in purchasing this DVD player
(Aluminum External USB 3.0 and USB C UHD 4K Blu-Ray player)
I am not interested in burning anything only watching movies, is it possible to flash this player and install a downgraded firmware so I could watch ultra high definition DVD’s? It is a model BU50N.

It's really necessary to know what KIND of drive it is, as in the model number and firmware that is in it.

What does MakeMKV say in the LibreDrive information about it?

There's no such thing as UHD DVD's. DVD's are very poor resolution and quality. BD is substantially better and UHD BD is currently the best available.

For only watching movies, it is recommended to get an actual set top player and connect it to your TV. PC optical drives are not really recommended for UHD disc playback.
