BU20N Libredrive Flash

Hello all. The last time I was here was in 2021.
I have done some searching and I cannot find a coherent guide to flashing a BU20N with a manufacture date of September 2016. People are commenting everywhere that it needs to be MT1959 AND have a manufacture date after 2015 to flash to BU40N 1.00 firmware.

Through all of the individual posts I have gathered some things and I want you all to correct me so I can update this post as we go with everything I learn. I have a USB adapter on the way to get you all a makemkv info screenshot tomorrow.

I have seen suggestions of updating the firmware to the BU40N 1.00 version, is that still the best advice so far? Or should it be the BU40N_1.03_MK.bin version?
Does the drive still need to be set to IDE mode in the BIOS in order to do the flashing with SDFtool Flasher v 1.3.6 ?

I appreciate the wisdom you all can bestow upon me. Thank you.

No, the BU20N is not compatible.
