Could a flashed aliexpress drive infect your PC?

Hi! So, as I said in my other post, I bought a Verbatim 43888, but paid about 135 euros and not even new (Amazon Second Hand)
I flashed that one (it actually was an LG UB40N), but I found that aliexpress is selling the same “core unit” (LG) for half the price
So I’m thinking about returning it (as I’m doing with a TechPulse 120 which actually was a Pioneer but not for UHD, so, even though the Pioneers dont need flashing anymore, I wont keep that one either), but I’m worried about the firmware it might come with; surely, the same you can get here, but… could it be with some back-door to act against my PC?
I guess all LG UB40N are the same and I could re-flash de “unbranded” Aliexpress LG, but that still would mean connecting it to my PC…
I could use a secondary PC I would mind formatting afterwards, but my doubt is there, and that’s why I’m asking you, both the question and advice
Thank you!!
