I got this here drive and i want to make it read UHD discs. What firmware should i flash it to?

its a bu40n with encrypted fw if your using the guide

do i have to decrypt the firmware first or can i install the bu40n firmware directly?

No, BU40N 1.03-MK replaces the encrypted firmware.

No, BU40N 1.03-MK replaces the encrypted firmware.

(tho i have to plug in both usbs for it to read uhd disc lol)

Yes, you should always plug in both USB plugs as one generally provides the additional power that the drive needs.

Thanks this helped. It was driving me nuts the last few days on Ubuntu. It would read on Windows but not Ubuntu. I flashed the firmware and it worked. The LG drive was working but I flashed that a while ago.
