Hi All,

Apologies in advance if I've posted this in the wrong area. I have an ASUS BW-16D1X-U. I'd love to have some assistance please to see if I it is possible to change the firmware on this drive to enable LibreDrive?

I would be using a Mac to run any flashing software. Also is it possible to save the existing firmware so that I could always go back to that if the drive started misbehaving, or is that not possible?

Thank you for your reply. I've tried to make sense of the 'Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025'

Can I confirm if my drive is capable of being patched please? I just want to get some guidance so that I don't damage the drive or do something I regret.

I was going to use the SDFtool Flasher but it looks like that windows only and I'm on a Mac. Do I use some Mac software or just command line entry in Terminal. I'd prefer a GUI software if available.

I've downloaded the files from here:

Can you advise me which one do I use? The only ASUS one I can see is 'ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10-WM01601-211901041014.bin' is this the one I need?

Any leadership you can provide to steer me away from the pitfalls would be appreciated. Thank you.
