LibreDrive Possible, not yet enabled

I recently bought a verbatim 43888, specifically because I read everywhere that it didn't need to be flashed and worked out of the box on UHD dics.
However, it seems that mine does not. Under the heading "LibreDrive Information", it states "Possible, not yet enabled".
I was successfully able to back up a bluray disc, but not a uhd bluray disc.
The full info is:
Code: Select all
Drive Information
OS device name: \Device\CdRom0
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BU40N
Revision: 1.05
Serial number: MO1OB1F0346
Firmware date: 2124-04-23 13:47
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 66
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
The firmware data is weird, but I never flashed it and it came in a sealed box.
The first time I started MakeMKV it told me to send a dump to
support@makemkv.com
I did this on the 12th of march, but got no reaction (not that I'm obligated to one)
Does this mean I do still need to flash it? And if so which specific firmware?

That's no longer true as the Verbatim 43888 now comes with an LG BU40N inside. It can be flashed.

Thank you for the advice and sorry for the confusion on my part. I have now flashed the drive and it works flawlessly

Hi all,
I have the same situation; it states that LibreDrive is possible, but not yet enabled. Is there any chance for me to get the drive to work with UHD discs?
