I run Linux and haven't flashed anything.
Starting makemkv (which has beta registration valid for 2 more days) never stops seeking on a bluray or dvds.
I'm not entirely sure if this is valid, but I also cannot dump the firmware with:Drive Information

makemkvcon f -d /dev/sr0 dump -o ./
I was planning to:
1. flash /LG slim BP50NB40-NB50/HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-NM00800-212005070917.bin
2. flash (recover somehow in linux?) LG slim BU40N/HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934.bin
but wanted to make a backup first. Is this drive DOA or will none of this work before I flash?
The drive has a strange usb cord with two plugs, so I tired plugging one in, two in, one into a powered hub, two into my pc. The spin up and reading sound fine, but the drive never seems to return.# makemkvcon f -d /dev/sr0 --info
