Sadly my Pioneer BDR-209 which was flashed to (BDR-211) recently to be libre enabled died..
i had issues earlier on with the drawer tray not sliding out.. this drive was bought in the year 2013 (11 years old already!!)
so i decided to totally open it up to clean the rubber band, but it slipped out, and thats when all the trouble started. using tweezers i had to slowly put it back into the groove. then by accident the whole drawer tray fell out!! i managed to put everything back together again, n power it up, but now any discs i put into it, the drive is turning and whirring, but it cant read (Pick up) any discs in it.
oh well, there goes my 209 flashed to a 211 down the rubbish dump..
Sad... was a sturdy disk drive..

try this

eject tray
unplug drive with tray out
pop off front bezel clips on sides and bottom with plastic tool
undo screws from bottom will be under stickers if you have an s13, 213 does not have stickers.
flip backover and remove top cover
clean lasers with a lint free cloth or qtip and alcohol and dry with another do this 2 times and do not let it air dry you must remove the residue with a dry one!

i did all of that.. it was barebones without the grey iron casing. removed all screws too..
did a swab dapping on the laser head too. but i guess the laser mechanism might have suffered a knock while i was putting it all back together again..
i can hear discs spinning, but after a while it shows up as "No Disc"

oh my god!! i did it!! its working again!!
steps i took to get it to work again.
1) open ImgBurn software.
2) pop in a regular audio cd, and ImgBurn showed all the audio tracks in the cd!!
3) then i opened MPC-HC Player to play the tracks, after 3 tracks i stopped the drive and ejected the disc.
4) totally dismantled the drive again, piece by piece, and pulled back the laser mechanism about 2cm down the 2 rods holding it
6) cleaned the 2 laser heads with a qtip
7) then put the whole drive back together again
8) put in a bluray, and it worked! then put in a 4k uhd disc and it worked too!!
9) drive is back alive!!
Yahoo!!!!

Plus now the tray has no more issues!! the rubber band has been cleaned so now there is proper friction to open and close the tray!!
