Buffalo BRUHD-PU3-BK

I have a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3-BK. I bought it from Amazon US, but it seems to be the Japanese model (at least, most of the text on the box is in Japanese). I flashed it with HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-BU12-OM01001-211902230922.bin, and MakeMKV now says LibreDrive is enabled, but it can't recognize any 4K Blu-Rays. I tried it with Back to the Future, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes; no luck.
It does work with a 1080p Blu-Ray.
I did read the Ultimate Guide, and I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions correctly.
