I have 2 of these drive bought in the last 2 weeks from UK supplier Novatech and both are causing surface scratches about 1cm in from the middle when I rip my blu-ray movies. I have tried original firmware 3.11 and the libredrive firmware 3.10 and mounting the drives in another pc with a better quality case. The drives are dead level with a sprit level. I only noticed the drive was causing harm after I had ripped 26 movies.

Stop. It's a scam and the drives are defective. Read your PM.

Return the defective drives for replacement. There really isn't any other "fix" for a defective drive.
