Hey gang! I’ve been using this drive for many months without issue and then about two weeks ago it started to struggle loading discs. It would take several loading tries for it to read and then finally this read it won’t read. After inserting a disc it acts like it wants to read a disc and then ejects it without spinning up.

I will admit I did run it pretty hard ripping several hundred blus and 4Ks since receiving it.

Should I attempt to clean the laser? Does anyone know if the cover pops off? I see a few slots on the bottom that appear to be for a flat tool. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you have to very carful putting it back in the case it very easy to miss the center hook on the bottom case and then the slot is misaligned with the slot on the case and it will ruin your discs make sure to insert it at an angle.
but if its not spinning up likely the motor is dead not the laser
the motor of any optical drive can be killed easily if you put disc in with stickers on them any of the discs you copy have those?

The laser stays clean from the wind created by the disc.

I now also have desktop pioneers including the new ultra quiet s13ux model
