I've emailed you already about this. I assumed it was sorted as I never heard back from you.

Can you confirm:

1. You are running Windows 10 or 11 (64 bit)
2. You are NOT using a VM
3. You installed MakeMKV in the default directory (which is C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV)

Also, how are your drives connected to your PC? What enclosures or adapters are you using?

According to MakeMKV in your picture, your BU40N is at 1.03 with LibreDrive enabled. Why are you trying to flash it?

Because I don't know what I am doing. It shows up as you see but the drive does not open, the led does not light up. In MakeMKV it won't open when I hit eject. So I was thinking it needs to be flashed, it came this why from who I got it from online.

So what drive is it?

Make?
Model?
Manufacture date?

Then copy/paste the MakeMKV drive info & libredrive info sections.

That error code normally means there's a disc in the drive. Remove it.

Who told you to flash bu40n fw to a wh14ns40

Use the recovery option quick back to the correct fw and don't keep the drive powered on when its flashed wrong

I have just been reading the forums and trying to figure it out. The why it is programed is how it came in the mail. I was just trying to flash it not knowing if it was already good or not.

I do not know or understand yet how to make it work. I requested a return from the ebay seller for the drive since it won't open. In theory I am thinking it should just be working like normal at least. I can't afford the preflashed drives yet but really want to back up all of my uhd discs and other older movies with it.

Maybe it'll be useful to someone.
On Windows 7 Professional SP2 64-bit, SDFtool works like a charm.
I've used it to convert two drives: a Verbatim 43888 (BU40N) and an Asus BW-16D1HT.
Everything works perfectly. Many thanks to the program's creators.
