MakeMKV 4k on any libre drive?

I have an LG BDDVDRW #UH12NS30, it's libre enabled and rips perfect 1080p Bluray MKVs. Can I rip 4K UHD as well or am I limited to 1080p.?

Depends. Does the drive SUPPORT UHD? Not all do. Web search says no.

Ok, thank you. I wasn't sure that was the case, but now I know. It definitely is not UHD-capable drive.

It would be NICE if they allowed all drives to work with UHD, but... 
UHD-capable drives will "usually" have UHD mentioned on the drive itself. You would think everything made after UHD came out in 2016 would be UHD-capable, but they didn't want to give us anything they could avoid.
