Update it to 1.02 firmware version.
I'd also like to thank you TeddyRaspin. I have a pair of the same drives (Pioneer BDR-212U 1.00), and the update to 1.02 did the trick :-)

Hi i have Pioneer BDR-209EDK with original firmware RS8600 and it should be supported, but when i insert UHD movie, it says No disc inserted. Does the firmware need patching?

No, the drive needs replaced with something that is UHD-compatible. According to the firmware, your drive was made back during the transition period to UHD capability, and it is from before that.

It is unlikely that it has the capability to read UHD disks, and does not report that in the status. It has OTHER capabilities though.

I have a BDR-XD07 drive which is listed in the SDF.bin, but I still get told that LibreDrive is not yet enabled for my device. Is this because the revision number is 1.01 which doesn't appear in the SDF.bin?

Yes. You will have to update your firmware. To do so you need to download the newer firmware from the Pioneer web site.
Please be aware that your drive doesn't support UHD discs.

Would it be possible to add support for the BDR-XD08 ? Here's mine (doesn't detect the disc):

No disc inserted

Hello! I use LibreDrive and MKV with my Hitachi-LG BH16NS55 on my desktop PC and it works like a charm (thank you!).

I've noticed only now that also the BD drive on my old laptop could have LibreDrive as well. How can I make it work?
(I know that this drive will never be able to read UHD Blu-Ray)

In order for it to work it will be necessary for Mike to add your drive to the LibreDrive database.

By the way, there is a WIP project for crossflashing non-UHD to so-called "UHD-friendly" drives, and your drive's hardware should be capable to work with BDR-UD04 firmware. I will need a memory dump from your drive to add its support, please check your PM for further instructions. Thanks in advance!

Could you shoot me the info on how to take and submit a memory dump from my BDR-XD08 as well?

Which exact model do you have? Right now I need a dump from BDR-XD08BK/SV/GL, marketed for Japan.

None of the device IDs match the one you mentioned. Debug and sdftool output are a couple posts up.

Thanks, I already have the dump from this version (GENERAL kernel type). Wait for Mike to add its support to LibreDrive.
