The firmware is from 2020 and the drive cannot decrypt. I definitely need to flash the drive. When you state "none", are you saying that there is no firmware for this model drive?

Thank you.

He's saying all features are enabled, so there's nothing more to do:

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8D31
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-BDS7
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.03/ID05
DVD all regions: Yes

When you say "the drive cannot decrypt", I'm guessing you might benefit from reading the UHD FAQ linked in my sig?

Your Pioneer drive will only be able to decrypt UHD discs if it is one of Pioneer's UHD models.
Cheers :D

I have a Pioneer BDR-209D 1.34 which I've been using to rip BD's (retail movies) for a few years now, but since LibreDrive began supporting this drive earlier this year, many of my discs are only ripping at a max of 2.0X whereas they used to rip at 4.0X to 7.0X.

I tried the speed_ 0=99 setting in the registry but that didn't help, so I changed the sdf_Stop key to the drive's ID to disable LibreDrive entirely. That has restored my read speeds again.

What disadvantage am I likely to face without LibreDrive, particularly with future release Blurays?

My highest AACS version is 76 and so far the latest release Blurays are ripping at 4-7X successfully.

Hi guys.
I have two old Pioneer drives and both didn't work. I'm attaching the LibreDrive information of both.
Can someone please explain me what should I do to rip 4K UHD BD discs ?
Thanks in advance.

Sadly those Pioneer drives don't support UHD at all. You need a Pioneer drive with U in the model name such as Pioneer BDR-S12UHT for an example. Older drives predate 4k discs and the ability to read them.

Hi there, I've recently got a new UHD Pioneer drive that I'm trying to rip UHD discs with.
It's the following:

Drive Information
OS device name: E:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XD07U
Revision: 1.03
Serial number: TJDL000950WL
Firmware date: 2020-08-20
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 61

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8D31
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-BDS7
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.03/ID05
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

In theory should this work I think? I'm on the most updated MakeMKV, have enabled internet access in the preferences and have sent of the .tgz files off to svq@makemkv.com a couple of weeks ago. I'm still getting 'the volume key is unknown for this disc' only for UHD discs, standard blu-ray and dvds are working fine however.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Sam

Could I get some assistance please. I have a Pioneer BDR-212U that Libredrive cannot activate.
What do I need to do to get this to work?

I have also attached a zip log file that MakeMKV made if that helps.
Thank you everyone for the help!
