Asus BW-16D1HT with Vantex Nexstar DX USB having issues

So I've been ripping several 4ks, blu-rays, dvds, etc for years with my Asus blu-ray drive.
However as it rips, the drive stops and then the rip fails. Then I can't even use the drive since the adapter doesn't show up no matter what I do. Unplugging the usb shows the drive working, but plugging it back in stops it.
Has anyone had the same issue with the Nexstar DX and Asus blu-ray drive? What can I do to fix this?

Ok, just power cycled the drive again and it shows up again on my computer (second time since the first time I did that the rip failed yet again since the drive did the same thing as before with stalling then completely disconnecting), is there a setting or something I can change now that the drive shows back up to prevent the drive from disconnecting during the rip or is it completely hopeless?

Have you cleaned the disc that is doing this if the drive does this alot on multiple clean discs it likely defective or the power supply is dying of the case

Thats what I might have feared...
I'll try testing the drive via sata to check to make sure its not defective, but the discs are fine. Even tried a brand new disc with the same issue.

Clean the disc!
I done several discs, some even brand new. All were clean, didn't work...
I do appreciate the advice however.

No. New discs have an invisible film on them. Clean them. Warm water and liquid soap. Then Kleenex. Then microfiber cloth used to clean glasses.

You should never use 'Kleenex' on a disc - terrible advice. They can scratch the surface and leave lint.
Use a lens cloth.

Just wanted to update everyone, Brought a Mercury Pro to replace the nexstar and all the discs work great and rip fine in makemkv.
My best guess is that my Nexstar is at its end of life stage due to not getting enough power.
So, if anyone is having issues with a Nexstar shutting off in the middle of a rip, it might not be getting enough power anymore.
