Is there a how to make LG BP50NB40 UHD -friendly?

Post by ludery54 »

Hey there,

if i understand it right the LG LG BP50NB40 can make be UHD-friendly by flashing BP60NB10 firmware.

But: How i did this?
  • Flash HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-NM00800-212005070917.bin
  • Downgrade to HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.02-NM00700-211811011016.bin
  • Flash HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP60NB10-1.02-NM00800-212005070935.bin
Is this the right way?

Using SDFtool Flasher,

1. Flash the equivalent MK version of your drive's firmware first. (so if it comes with 1.03, flash 1.03-MK (with "enc" as stock 1.03 is encrypted) if it comes with 1.02, flash 1.02-MK (no "enc"))

2. Flash BP60NB10 1.00-MK (from the "old"folder)

3. Done. Start ripping UHD's!!

PS: It goes without saying, double check you have the correct firmware selected before flashing!!
Cheers :D
