Im a newbie and getting ready rip my dvds for backup and to create a movie server.

I have been trying to find a Asus BW-16D1HT external drive for my Mac, but I cant seem to find one. I don't think it exists.

Is the Asus BW-16D1X-U the external version? I saw a post on here about a version that presents problems with this.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The BW-16D1X-U is NOT the same drive; it is not capable of UHD reading.

Make one. Just throw a BW16D1HT into an external case like a Vantec.
