MakeMKV firmware compatibility

Post by Rathal »

Does flashing a drive with MakeMKV firmware affect its compatibility with other software? Read on one of the eBay listings that it makes the drive only work with MakeMKV, but that didn't seem consistent with what I've read on here.

I'm mainly talking about 1080p Blurays/DVD and (outside of MakeMKV) audio CDs - not bothered about 4K playback, and having 4K ripping (assuming I buy a compatible drive) only in MakeMKV would be fine.

Brilliant, thanks! Although to be honest I'm leaning towards buying a preflashed drive anyway
