WH16NS40-NS60 Read Speeds assistance.

Hi Everyone,
I'm usually pretty good at figuring this stuff about, but I seem to be having some difficulty with this.
I bought a LG WH16NS40 off of Amazon, from Amazon.
I had the 1.04 firmware, and I read that flashing the firmware to any WH16NS60 firmware would increase the read speed. So, using the downloader/flashing tool, I flashed it to what I thought is the current firmware to use. The firmware used was from the MK Firmware Pack 20200720, using:
mk-firmware-pack-20200720\MK\HL-DT-ST\WH16NS60\HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.03-NM00600-212005081010.bin
It worked, the drive is doing what I need it to do, but I was wondering about the speeds. I have edited the registry to 0=99, as it says is a good setting for NS60 drives. Im using a recommended enclosure through USB3, connected to a USB3 port, writing to an SSD, getting speeds of around 12-13X. Is this normal? The regedit did increase the throttle, and consequently the read speed, but I'm wondering what I'm missing. I've done searching and seen that some people went to Asus and then to 1.0, and just seem to be getting some conflicting information for what is the best current firmware to use, and where to get it from.
Can someone tell me if I've done something incorrectly, and what to do next if anything?
