I've been using MakeMKV a long time with a very old Blu-Ray drive, an ASUS brand BW-12B1ST a with 1.0 firmware that never got any firmware updates since I've had it. I figured the drive was so old it would never be supported. Just this morning while poking around I saw there was a LibreDrive v6 update from May which actually supports my ancient drive so grabbed the bin file and put it in my data folder, restarted and ta-da!

So then just for thrills I tried it out and the closest Blu-Ray I had handy, Annabelle Comes Home. Just about every Blu-ray I rip with this drive takes about 30min or so before the LibreDrive update. I had already ripped this Blu-ray a long time ago and it probably took about as long. After doing the LibreDrive update re-ripping this Blu-ray took nearly 1 hour and 16 minutes. Was there something else I should have done? Or is something else going wrong? The file it created looks great and has no issues, just that it took 2.5 times as long to make. Any ideas?
