LG WH16NS40 1.02 DE burning issues

Anyone has encountered problems burning BD25 (I haven't tried BD50...) with an LG WH16NS40 1.02 DE? ImgBurn seems to have troubles with it.

I usually use the following method (I've been doing this successfully for some years):

- .iso created using AnyDVD HD
- .iso burned with ImgBurn

Someone has any idea as to what's happening?

regards,
Danny

I'm using AnyDVD HD 8.4.8.0
ImgBurn is 2.5.8.0

BD-R are Panasonic MEI-T02-001

I was able to burn a DVD5 successfully.

I did 5 attempts at burning BD-R, 4 Verbatim (VERBAT-IMe-000) and one Panasonic (MEI-T02-001) with no luck.

What do they say about this at the AnyDVD message board?

I just tried burning a 4GB .mkv on a BD25 using Nero and I still get Write Error.

I fail to see how an .iso created with AnyDVD HD could lead to write error on my WH16NS40 1.02 DE.

The drive spins the disc in a weird manner, I have to shut down my computer every time I test it and the drive still spin and make weird noises 30 seconds after having shut down the computer.

Got 8 coasters for sale, anyone interested?

Tried with both BD-R models:

- Panasonic MEI-T02-001
- Verbatim VERBAT-IMe-000

Can't be the discs as they work no problem on my unflashed LG WH14NS40 1.04.

I'm pretty confident it's the drive that is faulty or the LG WH16NS40 1.02 DE firmware.

Unfortunately, I didn't tried to burn BD-R with it (unflashed) when I got it Wednesday, I had Billycar11 flashing it almost right after I unboxed it.

Now, I'll ask for a replacement, I will test it carefully before I flash it and will report back.

Ok, I flashed my LG WH16NS40 1.02 DE back to the LG WH16NS40 1.03 Official and I can burn BD-R.
So, the LG WH16NS40 1.02 DE firmware flashed on a LG WH16NS40 1.04 December 2019 results in a drive that is unable to burn BD-R.

try 1.04mk then that might fix it fully to be friendly and burn discs

Do you mean WH14NS40 1.04 MK? I can put WH14 on a WH16? I mean the most recent MK for WH16NS40 is 1.03.

Any known limitation using this configuration? Is the read speed going to drop from 16x to 14x?

I just burned a BD-R with 1.03 MK. :)

Will rip a BD66 and BD100 starting in a few minutes.

One more question, can I go directly from 1.03 MK to 1.02 DE ? Just curious.

Thanks for helping me out. :)

ripping a bd66 and 100 should still work fine

Would you mind explaining why you initially recommended 1.02 DE instead of 1.03 MK?
I'm sure you have a good reason and I certainly would be interested in knowing. :)
