I am a noob that is just about to flash his HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.01...

I see in the current firmware pack it offers an upgraded libredrive enabled 1.02 or in the old folder it offers 1.01

Is there any huge benefit to going to 1.02 modded from my stock 1.01 or would it be wiser to stay on 1.01 modded from the old folder?

I didn't see any topics addressing this particular topic, sorry if I missed it.

See at bottom of the page. 1.02 enables flashing MK firmware without to have it cross-flashed first to another firmware.

There's no benefit going from 1.1 to 1.2.
