Can a Libre Drive read HD DVDs?

This doesn't come from nowhere. It's long been understood that Blu-Ray and HD DVD drives and media are incompatible. I just assumed it was a firmware/encryption/licensing issue but never thought much about it, but I recently happened across this https://forum.lddb.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=9332 forum post on the Laser Disc Data Base indicating a guy was able to open an HD DVD with his Blu-Ray drive and it made me wonder if that would work with a LibreDrive?

Extremely doubtful. That article make sit sound like the disc was a DVD9 and not an acutal HD-DVD disc.

There are dual disc type drives for hddvd and bluray so he may have had one of those but its doubtful otherwise because from my understanding its a different laser or hddvd.
