I have a BW-16D1HT-PRO that I've had for YEARS, I've ripped a few 4k BD's with it, but wow those suckers take up space. I recently got a beefy NAS setup and was going to start ripping again.
I was fiddling around seeing what might have changed since the last time I ripped anything, and wanted to see if I could skip a step and do like my old DVD ripping and just use HandBrake, it threw a hissy-fit, couldn't even end the task, had to reboot. But when I did, my BD drive didn't even show up in windows. It still ejects, and still seems to spin to try and read discs, but it doesn't seem to show up anywhere in Windows (10).
Is there any hope of me resurrecting it, maybe by re-flashing the firmware? Or is it kaput?

Re: ASUS Drive Vanished From Windows
Thanks, I actually already rebooted once, then did some looking, then again after making this post to poke around in the BIOS where I SWEAR I didn't see it on any of the SATA ports, but once I got back to Windows from the BIOS it had actually re-appeared and is now ripping the first of my Harry Potter Collection... for reasons
but later I'll be doing some more legit personal rips, depending on how much space I still have on my NAS
