Does Flashing A Drive Make It Region Free?

#1 Post by thegeekvariety » Sun Feb 02, 2025 2:02 am

Im sorry if this is a common question but I havent been able to find a conclusive answer to this.

I just flashed my drive and was curious if now it can also read any region disc along with being able to read 4k.

Cheers!

Flashing does not make a drive region free. All good ripping software should ignore or remove any region coding. FYI, 4k UHD discs are region free.
Cheers :D
