Pioneer BDR-XD07UHD FW 8/5/22 dropped Libre [Solved]

#1 Post by kdheslop@gmail.com » Wed Sep 14, 2022 5:21 am

I was having problems with my BD UHD drives spinning errors and noticed new firmware dated 8/5/22, so I updated it and now it says it does not have Libre compatibility.

Of course, then I read that after updating to 1.04 you are not able to go back!

SOLVED: Program (database) updated and running new instance (not new install, just restarting) works now. Thank you Mike and Billy Carr for their help.

Am I the only one that has made this mistake?

Is there a way to enable Libre like before?

Contact @mike admin and see if he can extract a firmware dump from your drive. He can then do his magic and add it to the LibreDrive firmware list.
Cheers :D

The SDF.bin was just updated a few hours ago. Should work now.

GOt message that the program or database is updated and running a new instance of MakeMKV, no new download, just reopening, and the drive works.

Quick follow-up question from a new guy - I'm buying this type of drive this week as my first drive to learn with; is the lesson learned from this to not update the firmware of the drive when it arrives, or is it ok to do so knowing that the problem has been resolved on makemkv now?

Mike, I suggest that you add this firmware to the list here so people know that it is now supported:
