Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
The detailed list will be posted soon. About 200 firmware versions total, about 2/3 in supported state. MakeMKV now displays detailed information for the drive on the main screen, look for the LibreDrive information on the right pane. It will tell you if the drive is supported right now or can be possibly supported.

First, this Libredrive is awesome, good work! However, I don't see this in my MakeMKV, is there something that needs to be done to update the display of drive info?mike admin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 1:22 amThe detailed list will be posted soon. Update: Figured it out, actually rip a disc, when it downloads the latest SDF it updated to use libredrive mode!

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
I use an LG external Blu-ray drive. It says the "hardware" has LibreDrive, not not the firmware. Is that the way it is supposed to be?
I noticed that normally the original files that are supposed to be copied are track 800. ... But I tried a movie called Night At the Museum 3 and it said track 800 is equal to track 850. But rather than leaving out track 850, it left out track 800. In the past, I could see both to see if the Segment Maps were the same. But now it doesn't let me - I only see track 850. Is that the way it is supposed to be?
Also, with the movie A Good Day to Die Hard, it had many hash errors and other types of "bugs." The bad thing is I was unable to get a report of this because it never finishes anything. Instead, it freezes and I need to press Control+Alt+Delete to turn MakeMKV off.
Any advice is helpful. ... Thank you.

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
When you say not the firmware, does it specifically say it isn't supported, or does it say "unpatched"? I may be wrong, but I believe that only the hardware matters for LibreDrive as it bypasses the firmwaremike_mgoblue wrote:I use an LG external Blu-ray drive. No, it requires a supported version of the firmware. Mike is working on adding support for different firmware versions so it's possible to have supported hardware that's on a firmware that's not currently supported.

I, too, am waiting for "the List." I'm eager to buy a new drive and would like to know which ones to look at purchasing.
Cheers!

Well the LG WH16NS60 will be at $200 soon because of the run on these drives Libredrive has created. Hard to believe I'm less expensive than Amazon at this point.

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
I'm considering buying a BD drive. What drive should I go for with this new LibreMode and UHD blu-ray discs in mind? The Asus BW-16D1HT or the LG BH16NS55 ? They're practicially the same price, though the Asus one has been available since 2014 while the LG one is listed as for sale since 2016. So, the LG seems newer. Any differences between those worth going one or the other?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I see no information in the right pane regarding LibreDrive at all. Am I doing something wrong?mike admin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 1:22 amThe detailed list will be posted soon. ASUS BW-16D1HT firmware = v3.02, 4K movie in the drive, just says no disc.

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
Yea, that's the stupid 3.02 that they re-released to remove UHD friendliness. Downgrade required.

Has the list been posted anywhere yet? My bluray drive died and I need to replace it but don't want to get something that might not be supported by LibreDrive.mike admin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 1:22 amThe detailed list will be posted soon.
