weird issues with BP60NB10/Svc 12
Hi, we've got a BP60NB10 that started off with Svc 12, and it's got a bit of weird stuff going on when alternate firmwares are flashed to it. our hope was to put OmniDrive on it, but that's a can of worms we've already opened on RibShark's github; in the interim we've flashed DE_LG_BP60NB10-NB12_1.02-MK.bin from Marty McNut's pack, giving us Drive ID HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BP60NB10_1.02_212107081556_SIK03G1164413. With this firmware, we can use MakeMKV to read Blu-Rays in LibreDrive mode, and read and write DVD+RW discs using standard MacOS tools. However, with this firmware our drive sorta refuses to read DVDs; they spin for a bit and then the drive spits them back out. Is this normal/expected? Should we just use a different drive for DVDs? It surprises us a bit that it can burn a DVD+RW but won't read a pressed disc.

Always ensure you insert the disc and let the OS initialise it before opening up the MakeMKV application.atax1a wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:09 amHi, we've got a BP60NB10 that started off with Svc 12, and it's got a bit of weird stuff going on when alternate firmwares are flashed to it. our hope was to put OmniDrive on it, but that's a can of worms we've already opened on RibShark's github; in the interim we've flashed DE_LG_BP60NB10-NB12_1.02-MK.bin from Marty McNut's pack, giving us Drive ID HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BP60NB10_1.02_212107081556_SIK03G1164413.
