I have owned this drive (a LG BP50nb40, external usb 3 blueray drive) since 2015, it still has original firmware on it, I am unable to update the firmware due to the update saying the svc code as NS50 where it should be NB50, yet on the label on the bottom of my drive it says svc code NB40.
How do I fix this problem and update the firmware?

You don't. Leave it alone.
