I have a Libre drive which was working fine until yesterday. It wiil not read Blu-Ray disc's at all now.
It shows the drive being selected and then it shows it as no device once the Blu-Ray is entered. It reads DVD's just fine.
It is connected via a SATA case. I tried it on another computer and it fails.

Re: LIBRE Drive failure
eject tray
unplug drive with tray out
pop off front bezel clips on sides and bottom with plastic tool
undo screws from bottom will be under stickers if you have an s13, 213 does not have stickers.
flip backover and remove top cover
clean lasers with a lint free cloth or qtip and alcohol and dry with another do this 2 times and do not let it air dry you must remove the residue with a dry one!

Re: LIBRE Drive failure
Ok...Now what --I should note that I am handicapped (had a stoke some years ago) and have only one hand.
I took it apart from the case and with tray uot removed the front tray and bezel, then removed the screws.
And then Flipped over and removed the top cover.
Not sure what or where the lasers are. Your instructions are not clear about the actual cleaning?
I am guessing that the lasers are the little specs with Glass eyes together.
You mean clean with an alcohol swap and dry with another swap (Q-Tip).
But note sure about TWO times and the drying part?
there are alot of things you can mess up..

Re: LIBRE Drive failure
Yes, the two colored lenses on a springy carriage are what to clean gently with alcohol on a cotton swab, then wipe dry with the dry end of the cotton swab. The red laser is under a lens that reflects blue light outward, and the blue laser is under a lens that reflects red light outward.
My 9.5 year old LG drive lost the ability to handle blu-ray discs, although mechanical action and the ability to handle DVDs were fine. I cleaned the lenses, which made no difference. Lasers can get used up and no longer function. So, while it is good to try an easy maintenance task like cleaning the lenses, the odds are that your blue laser is used up.

Re: LIBRE Drive failure
If the laser cleaning fails and the drive is basically considered dead, could the hack increasing the voltage slightly via the laser potentiometer possibly work?
If due to weakened laser
