Downgrade of my BD-RE WH14NS40 MT1939 Possible?!?

Post by Knightynight »

Greetings folks! :D

I may have posted my inquiry in the wrong place. My hope is that I may be able to downgrade the firmware of my BD-RE WH14NS40 but it has the MT1939 Drive Platform. So that means that 4K/UHD may not be possible?

Not sure what the options are. Please advise?

Thanks!
KN

No. Your drive is too old (2014 model) and has the older, incompatible MT1939 drive platform. Do not try to flash it or it will become a brick. It already has libredrive enabled which is good for standard blu-ray and this is as good as this drive will ever get.
Cheers :D

Hey, thanks for the quick reply MMNS :D ! Yeah, after a did a quick, in depth search, I discovered just what you stated. I also looked up the ship variants. Not worth the soldering efforts to swap them out. A can o worms fer sure  ! Thanks again.
