Hi all
I've been archiving my BR & DVD collection for the last few months and have done around 500 discs with no issues. However, just now I'm getting errors that discs aren't being registered. I put in a disc that I previously archived (i.e. I know it worked) and got this error message...
MakeMKV v1.15.3 win(x64-release) started
Error 'Scsi error - NO SENSE:NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION' occurred while reading 'BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BP50NB40 1.00' at offset '524288'
Error 'Scsi error - NO SENSE:NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION' occurred while reading 'BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BP50NB40 1.00' at offset '524288'
Error 'Scsi error - NO SENSE:NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION' occurred while reading 'BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BP50NB40 1.00' at offset '1048576'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:LOGICAL UNIT FAILURE' occurred while reading 'BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BP50NB40 1.00' at offset '1048576'
Error 'Scsi error - NO SENSE:NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION' occurred while reading 'BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BP50NB40 1.00' at offset '32768'
Does this mean my drive has died? It's an LG BR/DVD Writer (BP50NB40) if that helps.
Disc reading error - drive died?
Re: Disc reading error - drive died?
I had similar problem (don't remember the exact error messages) where reading discs started to fail even though those same discs had worked before. Even Windows didn't recognize the disc. I had already had a drive fail in similar way a month back but this new ASUS BW-16D1HT was less than a month old. I ended up flashing back original non-LibreDrive firmware, read a single Blu-ray disc with MakeMKV and flashed back the LibreDrive-enabled and all discs started to work again.
