Hi! I read this thread and I’ll be attempting to flash soon. I’m just not clear on the makeMKV 1.17.7 that’s recommend. Is This a requirement in general or only if flashing down to firmware version 1.00

Thanks !
that version is only needed on linux for some
if your on windows or mac you should be fine

if your on linux 1.00 is recommended on windows or mac 1.03 to keep it simple

see guide below or

email me or marty for an auto flasher if your on windows

Thanks for the clarity! Ps: What do you think of the slim drives? I had a verbatim 43888. It lasted about 50 discs and then just died. It died after trying to rip Daniel Craig’s five film collection. The movie No Time to die. lol. While, the irony is not lost on me. I tend to think this movie did kill it. It started making these clicking noises after I tried that movie several times. Is it possible to manufacturer planted a virus of some sort? Forgive me if it’s a stupid question.

my favorite slim drives are the pioneer xd08 or xd07
but they are near impossible to find now and there are fakes the the xd08tc

i have had a lot of bad luck with lg/asus rebrand drives thats why i moved to pioneers only

nah no virus just bad drive quality

if you haven't already try cleaning the lens
