Whole point of this excercise is to burn a 1 to 1 copy of my 4k blurays onto a 25gb Bluray. I like having blurays as all I have to do is stick in my player and sit back and enjoy. I'm old school. Hard drives fail and a Bluray will far out live a hard drive if treated well. At least I will have 4k Bluray backups of all the 4k movies I got back on the black friday sales.
bd 100 or bd66 to a bd25 is not 1:1 your losing alot and comparing it to a HDD in that way is kinda flawed if you put a HDD on a shelf it would likely last longer then a regular bluray and blurays are much more per gig then HDD the amount you save will pay for the replacement HDD + more

Maybe so but as we are advising you, don't be suprised (nor complain about it!) if/when the backups do not play in your player.

Also, bluray discs can degrade significantly after around 10 years. I have over 1000 blu ray discs in my movie collection (stored in cupboard in home theater room) and have had 2 of them degrade enough within 7 years that they no longer play. I had to replace them.
