Hi all,

hopefully someone could offer some advice on this drive

Drive Information
OS device name: \Device\CdRom0
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-X13U
Revision: 1.00
Serial number: ...
Firmware date: 2021-12-19
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 76

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS9401
Firmware version: ID43

From what I understand being on an early pre-22 (barely) firmware this should be suitable to use?
I did see in another thread (viewtopic.php?t=27378&start=345) Mike requested users to email dumps of their drives (which I did to the support mkv email address).
Any information would be appreciated.
There doesn't seem to be any X13U firmwar ein the current list but Mike should be able to add yours as it is pre Dec 2022. Yeah, email the firmware dump to him as the MakeMKV application suggests and give him a week or so and hopefully it gets added.
Cheers :D

Hey all,
Reading through this thread, I'm not too sure where I stand on my new drive.
Will this drive work to back up my Ultra HD Blu Rays?
If not, should I return it to Amazon while I still can or will it be crackable in the future if I keep it?

Drive Information
OS device name: \Device\CdRom1
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XD08U
Revision: 1.02
Serial number: ...
Firmware date: 2022-12-27
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 62

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS9331
Firmware version: ID05

Disc Information
Label: JUSTICE_LEAGUE
Timestamp: 2018-01-25 23:32:49
Protection: AACS2.0/C v61
Data capacity: 60.98 Gb
Disc type: BD-ROM UHD
Number of layers: 2
Bus encryption flags: 80

Thank you in advance!

No, return it. It has firmware post 11/2022 and is therefore not compatible.

This has been worked on for 2 years now and is looking more and more unlikely.
Cheers :D

You should return any that have firmware dated 12/2022 onwards as they are not compatible. Essentially all Pioneer drives from retail stores will have firmware that is too new. The only way to get a compatible Pioneer is from a seller on this forum.

yeah sorry man that wont work i would return it if you can i sill have pioneers with old fw if you want one
Cannot return. Found the Verbatum (Pioneer ODM) one and grabbed it. Works.

On the Pioneer, no as in "never", or no as in "going to be a while"?

Well it has been 2+ years so far so it isn't looking good.
