Hi All,

I am looking to pick up a Pioneer drive during these Black Friday sales. I have my eye on a Pioneer BDR-212DBK. I note people have previously been able to get these drives to become unlocked. Is there any manufacturiing date limitations on this freedom? Would a brand new and recent drive from Amazon be able to be liberated?

Is this the best Pioneer drive available that can be liberated these days? From the "Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2024" thread I was also considering a ASUS BW-16D1HT Pro or a LG WH16NS40. What would be the most recommended drive option for me to pursue during the sales?

In case it makes any differences I am located in Australia.

Regards,
Ian.

the only pioneer that is likely to have old fw now retail is 212v or ud04
you will have to email me to flash the 212V

212DBK i have seen them with new FW so dont buy that one.
if not available in your area get one from marty he has pioneers with old FW in AU
