BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
I am having this problem as well. SDF v73 did not fix it. Drive was not previously supported by Libredrive.
SDF v073: HL-DT-ST_BDDVDRW_UH12NS30_1.03_211404241900_K9PF9QA3831

Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
Update: After updating the registry value (Windows 10) for sdf_stop to my info I am now able to proceed.
For those of you who don't know where to look: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MakeMKV

Which registry value did you edit? I have the same drive and have not been able to get past the decrypting stage. Attached are entries I currently have available in the registry for MakeMKV and the user variable for SDF_STOP.

Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
For your variable value, try deleting the first part "SDF v073: " and leave just your drive ID. When you restart MakeMKV, you should be good to go with the workaround.beblank1us wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 3:42 amWhich registry value did you edit? Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
The sdf_Stop key was already there with no value entered when I went to find the setting.
Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
Registry keys and environment variables are usually case-sensitive, so "sdf_Stop" is not the same as "Sdf_stop".

Update pushed, please try again. Maybe it will work this time...

Tried with SDF v74, no luck.

Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
Ok, I'm disabling these drives for everyone for now. The individual SDF_STOP should not be necessary anymore. Sorry for the screw-up...
Please do check this topic, I might ask for help, as I am unable to reproduce this crash on my hardware.

Hi Mike, apologies Ive only just revisited the forum and missed out on the v74 sdf testingmike admin wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 4:27 pmOk, I'm disabling these drives for everyone for now. The individual SDF_STOP should not be necessary anymore. Sorry for the screw-up...

The latest is loaded now and libredrive is not enabled, all is working as it should.
Happy to do some testing, as long as it doesn't have the potential to bork my drive permanently of course
Cheers

As I said in previous post changing my sata controller from IDE to AHCI sorted the issue for me and every SDF update after worked ok.
I appreciate all the hard work you are doing and If you need some testing, I can try to help out changing controller mode etc.

Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
There were two separate bugs in that code. Hang in IDE mode was just one of them (not rally a bug of my microcode, rather a missing workaround for buggy IDE controller).
Other bug is fixed (hopefully) as of now too, sdf v76 should work.
Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
I can confirm that SDF v76 works for me (at least for the moment).
Thank you for looking into this!

Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
I think I may have the same bug.
Using SDF v76.
I have the Asus drive in the Vantec external enclosure via USB with patched firmware for Libredrive.
If I power on the drive without MakeMKV open, the drive acts normally. That is, it powers on, reads a disc, and I get the Win10 notification.
I have to have the drive powered on prior to opening MakeMKV, otherwise it doesn't detect any drives and I have to restart MakeMKV. I think this is normal anyway.
After opening MakeMKV, it seems to read the disc to get the structure, etc just fine.
However, after starting the read process, it hangs and doesn't go any further. I have to manually stop the process, which does take a few seconds. MakeMKV eventually responds with a fatal error message and then closes. I am unable to eject the drive.
If I go to power off the drive, it takes a few seconds for the Windows USB disconnect sound. If I repower the drive after waiting for 10 seconds, it responds normally and I'm able to eject the drive. However, it won't read the disc.
Just to be safe, I uninstalled and reinstalled MakeMKV as well. No dice.
I am running Windows 10 v2004 if that makes any difference.
