A lot of people talk about LG BU40N.
I own two drives saying they are BU40N. But they also say HL-DT-ST as the maker. And this, on the outside sticker and on the firmware.

So, are they LG made or else ?

Hl stands for Hitachi/LG they have a partnership on them.

So my drives are made by Hitachi, if I understood correctly.
As per flashing, they read UHD fine and Makemkv is happy also...

To confirm I've just read a Marvel Black Panter II. The backup seems fine but I'll erase it because i'm short on disk space.
