Can someone send me this firmware and kernel if that was also updated in this version? ID83 is the native version for my BDR-212UHBK. I've only been able to find 1.01 (it contained no kernel update) and 1.04 (contains both fw and kernel and is patched for downgrades and supported for Libredrive either)

Below is a list of drives for which we do not have a firmware file. These drives are currently unsupported but will be enabled once we obtain a relevant firmware dump or firmware update file. Please send us the firmware dump if you have this drive.

Code: Select all

I think I have a drive of interest but I'm not seeing any dump files generated. Can I manually generate a dump file or is there something I'm missing?

>Did you try cleaning the disc?
No. I don't have anything to clean with. It's not the problem, never has been. I don't smoke or have cats.
How can you rule it out as the problem if you haven't tried to clean the disc? If you clean the disc, and it still doesn't work, THEN you can rule it out as a problem. I've had plenty of discs that ripped just fine, sat in a case for a few years, and then when I had to re-rip them for whatever reason, they would no longer rip until I cleaned them. Usually, the culprit is off gassing of the plastics onto the disc while it's in the case.

If you don't have the supplies to properly clean the discs, then go buy some instead of discounting the step. All you need is Isopropyl Alcohol and some microfiber cloths. I can't tell you the number of times this has solved problems for me.

>Just because the older drive still works fine doesn't automatically mean the optics aren't dirty.
Sure. And they became dirty just as I updated. That's seems high probability.
Correlation doesn't equal causation. "High probability" doesn't equate to 100% causation. Part of troubleshooting issues is eliminating possible causes, no matter how unlikely YOU think they are. Having worked in technical support for 25+ years, I can't tell you the number of times where something simple the customer assumed wasn't the cause of the issue turned out to be the issue. Eliminate the easy stuff, then move on from there.

>If you continue to dismiss options provided without even trying them, you won't get much more help.
If "clean the lasers" is your first response, what are you saving for later?
Clean lasers is the first response because it has fixed issues for a lot of users, including myself. Why do you want to skip the easy troubleshooting steps that might very likely resolve your problem and instead jump to more complex troubleshooting? You insinuate that we are hiding some type of advanced troubleshooting until you try the basic stuff. If you are such an expert and are dismissing our suggestions so easily, why don't YOU propose to us what you should try later?
