LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
I just saw that your drive has 2023 firmware. So you can't flash. Sorry that I missed that.

Hmm, that's odd then. I can try running the flasher again but I'm still not sure what went wrong.nicholfd wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 9:50 pmI don't think he was indicating a VM improves the process - just that if you are using a VM, the settings of the virtualization app/virtual machine may cause issues.TheGame21x wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 9:45 pm
Yes, I'm on Windows 10. I can try using VMWare. the firmware I received was for the BDR-211, will that work for my 209M drive? Thanks for the help!
I exclusively use macOS as my primary computer OS. I have never had a failure with MakeMKV/flashing tools in Windows 10 & 11 VMs, on UTM (Free/Open Source), vmWare Fusion & Parallels. Due to licensing & what I own, I often switch between Win 10/11 VMs on all three virtualization apps, when working with/flashing optical drives that require Windows.
Thanks,
Frank

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
You had said you have the SAME drive. You don't and usually I ask for a post of Makemkv info. I didn't. Your drive has past Dec. 2022 firmware and is currently not flashable. You have to wait if and when Mike comes up with a solution.REbornDArth wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 4:37 pmthanks so much, sadly the drive is not accepting the firmware for some odd reason.Coopervid wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 2:43 pmPM sent.REbornDArth wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 1:39 pm

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Thanks for letting me know. Then I'll wait. Meanwhile I ordered another drive that should have better support.
