Crossflash Pioneer drives with encrypted firmware

Post by Coopervid »

Hi Mike,

you did a great job now allowing encrypted Pioneer drives to be Libredrive enabled. The next challenge is to flash these drives to be UHD capable as it was possible with firmware before 12/ 2022. Any hint or outlook? Will you be working on that or should owners of those newer drives just accept that this will not be possible?

There is promise from Billycar11, which I'd love to see!

This would be amazing and I have seen some stuff from @Billycar11 and others which would suggest that it is possible however how easy it would be is up for debate. Since pioneer is no longer making drives I would love to see it happen along with many improvements but admit that a lot of it is wishful thinking on my part.

Who would have expect that too strict copyright protection would have contributed and resulted in a partial if not complete failure of a format.
Staying on topic I would love to see what the future brings for those that do have many of these drives that are just begging to be used to their fullest extent.
