SDF update November 2025

Today we pushed a major SDF.bin update. Most Pioneer drives should work now as is, without the need for a firmware update. If your drive is Pioneer, check that you have latest version of SDF.bin (the program should download it automatically). Please report here if you see any changes at all.

IMPORTANT: Please reboot your drive before using a new SDF.bin - close MakeMKV, unplug, power off, wait 5 seconds, plug again, start MakeMKV.

All supported firmwares are listed in SDF.bin firmware list - viewtopic.php?p=79712#p79712

Below is a list of drives for which we do not have a firmware file. These drives are currently unsupported but will be enabled once we obtain a relevant firmware dump or firmware update file. Please send us the firmware dump if you have this drive.

Not sure if this is normal behavior, when I manually download the SDF.bin file it saves to the .makemkv folder. When MakeMKV is subsequently opened the bin file is removed/deleted.

Followed the above procedure. Note: after closing MakeMKV, it was still running in the process list. Killed all the instances, then unplugged drive, then manually downloaded new SDF, then plugged back in, then launched MakeMKV. Then got the above in the log. Drive seems to be hung there, too.

I also have a BD-RW BDR-XS07U 1.03 ID05 that isn't working. I was able to get a full FW dump that I submitted to support@makemkv.com (I got one yesterday but it didn't seem to have the actual flash.bin file in it.)

However I was only able to get the dump from MakeMKV in a Windows VM. When I tried from Linux, it just stayed on the spinning drive view forever. Maybe there's a bug with dumping drive FW on Linux?

I only got a dump file after I inserted a disc, but mine was a slot loader that showed up as "ejected" until a disc was inserted which might have caused that.
