So, I've managed to flash two LG drives that I had in the past couple of months. Both work and allow me to rip UHD. I found a post online where someone had the exact same drive I did, so it was pretty direct and made the process pretty simple with a simple tool and couple of clicks.
That being said, I've now run across this drive in my possession:
That being said, I've now run across this drive in my possession:
Is the drive able to be flashed to read UHD? And if so, what firmware do I need? I've tried to do my due diligence and try to find the answers before posting here, but not coming up with anything easily. I've tried reading a UHD disk as it is now, but it does not work, so I'm assuming I need to flash another firmware on it to make it work?Drive Information

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
Hi there, posting on here because my driver platform says "Pioneer". Honestly I am really new to this and doing my best to figure it out, but am lost. I tried to SDF tool and it says that the drive platform was MT1959 and wouldn't work. So then I tried the Asus modified tool and that didn't work either. That said "Erorr 1". Please help. Main computer is a mac, but I have an old windows 10 machine that works great.

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
Contact coopervid or billycar11 directly & provide them the above drive information from MakeMKV. They can provide you with a flash "package" for it, to make the task simple. The software they provide runs on Windows - physical or virtual on macOS (I've flashed my drives from a MacBook Air, with a Windows 11 Pro ARM VM).lezbhonest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 29, 2025 8:09 pmHi there, posting on here because my driver platform says "Pioneer".
