I guess my questions are: is it UHD capable for $25 and/or is it libredrive capable for not $25? I'm just confused trying to read the 1500+ posts and not making sense of it.

It will be released for free eventually but for now it's not public

@billycar11 I bought a Pioneer drive from you and it was working fine a few months ago but can't use it to play or rip UHD anymore. I did not update any firmware. I'm wondering if it's because it says Firmware type: Original (unpatched) but confused because it does also say Status: Enabled under Libre Drive Information. Let me know how to proceed, thanks.

MakeMKV Info

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/sr0
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-S13JX
Revision: 1.03
Serial number: __________
Firmware date: 2022-07-26
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 77

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS9201
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-213T
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.03/ID72
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

Disc Information
Label: DONT_LOOK_NOW
Timestamp: 2023-07-31 15:14:34
Protection: AACS2.0/C v77
Data capacity: 93.21 Gb
Disc type: BD-ROM UHD
Number of layers: 3
Bus encryption flags: 80
When trying to rip UHD I get:

Code: Select all

MakeMKV v1.18.1 linux(x64-release) started
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive
Saved AACS dump file as /home/slagathor/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v77_DON'T_LOOK_NOW_2E31.tgz
LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
Failed to open disc

@billycar11 I did switch to Linux from Windows. Does the Linux version of MakeMKV not have access to HK downloads? I'd prefer not to have to use Windows if possible.

If it matters, I am using Arch Linux and installed according to these MakeMKV instructions. I've also tried using the AUR version of MakeMKV but get the same error regardless. I can play / rip Bluray just fine btw.

Anything I can do here to get this working?

Thanks

You have to get your hk downloads working or make sure the docker passes through the drive fully
Both show similar issues

All that can work on Linux fine it just a matter of having it setup correctly

Hi, first time posting.

Ive had my Pioneer 211UKB drive for years. This week I downloaded MKV fir the first time and ripped 4 movies no problem. Today I tried The Revenant but evertime it got to the end it failed. Tried 3 times.

Then disaster struck.

I googled FW and found a new version - 1.54 version. I downloaded and installed from 1.52 not realising what I was letting myself in for.

Now the drive fails to read UHDs.

I'm gutted.

Any help?

Regards.

I just boght an asus external drive and make mkv shows the following: Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BW-16D1X-U
Revision: E113
Serial number: edited out
Firmware date: 2020-07-21
Bus encryption flags: 1B

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8F00
Firmware version: ID76

No disc inserted

I cannot flash any firmware. Is this drive supported at all? I just spent like $170 on this, so would be great if it is supported but just not added.
