i had to get a new disc drive because the old ones were starting to fail.
i use the lg b50nb40s.
so when i get a new drive, i flashed it using the code from my older post from several years ago
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32296&p=143132#p143132
so i flash it using this in terminal
/usr/bin/makemkvcon f -d 'dev_21:2' -f /tmp/lg/sdf.bin rawflash enc -i /tmp/lg/LG\ slim\ BP50NB40-NB50/HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-NM00800-212005070917.bin
and get this saying it sucessfully flashed

Re: disc drive flashed but make mkv says libre drive not enabled
Libre Drive isn't enabled. You're sure you've flashed this drive for using it with MakeMKV?
Edit: Sorry, I've just seen your copied text from the cmd. Something went wrong with the flashing process.
The Flashing Guide says:
" .....BP50NB40 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK then to > BP60NB10 1.02MK or 1.00MK
NB52 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with enc > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with bootloader/full flash > BP60NB10 1.00_HBD from Marty download/file.php?id=2143
if using command line add "full" after rawflash"

Your firmware is not encrypted so change enc to fullQwerty27 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 21, 2025 7:14 ami had to get a new disc drive because the old ones were starting to fail.

Re: disc drive flashed but make mkv says libre drive not enabled
thank you, marty. turns out it wasn't encrypted.
i tried the code again, but with your suggestion, and got this:

as for the multple flashings, the post i linked to say that it is for uhd capabilites.
ive only found 1 when i buy dvds, and that was for a movie i already have.
i usually flash the drives once for the libre drive capabilities and thats it.
again, thank you.
