That's a bummer 😕. Would this drive with a firmware dated around may to July 2023 be possible to downgrade please?
Pioneer firmware dated 2022-12 or later is incompatible with LibreDrive, and cannot be downgraded either.

Just got a BDR-S13UBK from Amazon, came with FW 1.05 dated 2023-08-01.

As I just mentioned in another thread, I think a lot of people would be left less confused if the MakeMKV info did not say "Possible, not yet enabled." It's inaccurate and gives false hope!

Guess I'll have to hit up Billy for one of his.

It seems Pioneer is also getting out of the drive business and have sold off that division
Essentially they put their own drive production division out of business because of that anti mkv firmware update

Pioneer announced that it will withdraw from the optical disc business by transferring all shares of its subsidiary, Pioneer Digital Design and Manufacturing (PDDM), which was responsible for the optical disc-related business, to Shanxichain Light Technology industrial Development Co., Ltd. (Ltd) under the Shanxi Group of China.

For business use, the Yamanishi Group inherited the business. For consumer use, the sale of Pioneer brand products (Pioneer IT Store) is scheduled to close on May 30th. Production of BD drives, etc. has already been completed, and it will be sold as far as inventory for both commercial and commercial use, including discs.

Regarding the reason for the withdrawal and transfer, the company commented, "As the Company makes the selection and concentration of the car electronics business mainly, we have decided that it is desirable to promote the optical disk business not only with the Group, but with a new partner." The products of the Pioneer brand were mainly produced in China, but the production completion period and the cumulative shipment volume are "undisclosed".

After entering the CD-ROM drive in 1992, Pioneer launched a four-speed CD drive in 1995 that supports a four-speed record. In addition, in 2002, the company announced a DVD-R/RW drive that achieved the industry's fastest write speed, which is four times faster on DVD-R and twice as fast on DVD-R.

After that, we released the world's first BD-R 12x record-compatible BD drive, the world's first BDXL compatible BD drive for PC, and the world's first portable UHD BD drive for PC. In addition, it has its own functions such as Pure Read to rip CDs correctly, and the support from AV fans was also thick.

In addition, for repair correspondence for Pioneer products, "The minimum holding period of parts is guaranteed by Pioneer."
